Studio Policy

Lesson

The student may wash their hands right before lessons. 

The student is encouraged to bring a notebook to take notes during and after the lesson. The student is also encouraged to bring their method books to each lesson.  

The teacher may provide the student with a copy of a single etude, additional material, or a scale. If an entire book of scales or etudes is being used, it is recommended that the parent or student purchase the book. 

The teacher uses the Faber and Faber Piano Adventures and Piano Safari methods, and parents or students are expected to purchase the lesson materials to begin lessons. 

In addition to the resources of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. 

​A combined voice and piano lesson is also offered.

Calendar

Semester Dates & Breaks: The studio operates from January 5 to May 21, 2026, with 16 lessons per semester. Following the public school breaks (no lessons during major holidays like Thanksgiving, winter break, and spring break). Summer lessons are also offered.

Mid-term enrollees are welcome, with prorated lessons and flexible scheduling to fit your availability. Contact for openings.

Practice

​The student is expected to practice daily, as discussed in the lesson.

Parents are encouraged to guide the student to a space that motivates practice. Parents and students are strongly encouraged to communicate any questions regarding homework and practice via email.

Cancellation and Rescheduling

The teacher may reschedule the lesson with 24 hours' notice.  

Students may reschedule or cancel a lesson with 24 hours‘ notice. With less than 24 hours' notice, 50% of the lesson fee will be charged. 

In the event of an emergency or an act of God, no fee will be charged.  

In-person lessons

The student and parents may choose to have lessons at the teacher’s house or at the student's convenience. An additional fee will be charged for the latter. ($0.35 per mile travel fee for one-way trips to your home)

Lesson Fee

The lesson fee covers the time the teacher spends traveling to the lesson, the time invested during the lesson, and the time spent on lesson planning. 

Students may enroll in weekly 30-, 45-, or 60-minute lessons.

Payments are accepted in cash, Venmo, or Bank Transfer. Please contact the teacher for more details.
